  Termination ICs: Introduction Termination ICs provide wetting current that inhibits corrosion at wire splices on customer premises equipment. This process is also known as sealing, which extends the life expectancy of a cabling system. Termination ICs have an integrated bridge rectifier for interface polarity correction. They also have inbuilt protection circuits for current limiting and excess power protection. Termination ICs are available in small IC packages and are designed to add minimum distortion to the signals. They have applications in routers, line cards, and in industrial automation.
